Power To The Pavement

Power 2 the Pavement has been an annual event since 2002 when a small group known as the Lethbridge Street Car Association created the event to allow street cars (licensed and insured) to have a full day of racing at the track. Since then the event has grown and in 2006 the event was taken over by the Street Wheelers Car Club.

Power 2 the Pavement is the best place to try drag racing. It is a heads up, run what you brung event. The classes allow anything to be competitive and the environment allows everyone to have fun.

Cars are divided into classes based on performance adding modifications with classes for every type of vehicle from bone stock all the way up to 7 second street cars. If you want to see how your car stacks up, have fun or just want to come and watch some of the fastest street cars in Southern Alberta, this is the event to be at.

Classes are as follows:

Sport Compact

-Import or domestic sport compact chassis

-Engine must be import or domestic sport compact origin

-Any tire

-Any power adder(s)

-Must have valid insurance and registration

 

N/A (naturally aspirated)

-Any Tire

-No power adders

-Any chassis

-Must have valid insurance and registration

 

11.50 Index

-Any tire

-Any power adder(s)

-Any chassis

-Must have valid insurance and registration

- any car can enter, regardless of performance adders. Heads up race, winner advances, if you run faster than 11.50 seconds, your out. If both cars run faster than 11.50 seconds, they are both out.

Street Tire

-Must be on a street tire with a tread rating of 200 or higher

-Any power adder(s)

-Any chassis

-Must have valid insurance and registration

 

275/10.5 1/8th Mile

-Tire size must not be larger than 275/60/15 radial or 28/10.5/15 slick

-Any power adder(s)

-Any chassis

-Must have valid insurance and registration

 

Outlaw

-Any size engine

-Any power adder(s)

-Any chassis

-Must have valid insurance and registration

Tech Guidline

All Vehicles must be licensed and insured.

All Vehicles must meet NHRA tech for the E.T. & MPH they are running.

Helmets Required. Snell 2005 or newer.

 

Gates open 8:00am

Tech starts at 10:00am

Racing starts at 12:00pm

Car & Driver: $50

Outlaw and 275/10.5 class: $100

Spectators & Crew $10
